Breast Lift

The breast lift procedure is  performed by the Manhattan Plastic Surgeon as an outpatient procedure, under general anesthesia which is administered by a physician anesthesiologist to minimize discomfort during the breast lift procedure.

Most patients have very little pain following the breast lift surgery. Most of the NYC plastic surgeon's patients return to work about a week after breast lift surgery. There may be some bruising for a week or so after surgery and some minor swelling for a few weeks following the plastic surgery.  This is normal.

A very common question which the Manhattan, New York Plastic Surgeon gets asked is how much scaring is involved with breast lift surgery? Although all plastic surgeries do leave scars, the NYC plastic surgeon can place these scars in areas that are not very noticeable. For example, in some women the breast can be lifted just placing the scars at the periphery of her areola, which is the dark area around the nipple. This scar is often very difficult to notice after it heals properly. Depending on the extent of the sagging there are times that additional scars need to be also placed. In order to correct severe sagging  breasts it is necessary to remove extra loss skin, which will require additional scars such as those of breast reduction.

Another common question presented to the NYC plastic surgeon regarding a breast lift is if the breasts sag after a breast lift? The sagging of breasts depends on the size of the breasts, pregnancy, gravity, and time. This applies to breasts even after a breast lift.
