The Best Candidates For a Facelift: The best candidate for a facelift is a man or woman whose face and neck have begun to sag, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. It is performed under general anesthesia administered by a physician anesthesiologist to minimize discomfort during the facelift procedure. Most of the Manhattan Plastic Surgeon's facelift patients have very little pain following the surgery because long-acting local anesthetic is administered as part of the procedure.
